Reading Time: 3 minutes

Hey and happy April to everyone! I hope everyone has been having a good start to the new year. April is my favorite month of the year. Not only is it my favorite month but it’s also my birthday month! If we want to be exact, this week, the first week of April is my birthday week with my birthday falling on Saturday, April 6th. It’s bittersweet for me this year but I don’t want to focus on the why. Instead, I want to focus on my word of the year.

Past Words of the Year

If you follow me on my blog’s Instagram, you’re likely already seeing my blog post about my word of the year. At first, I wasn’t going to share it here on my blog but I figured, why not do exactly that? Coming up with a word of the year is what I’ve been doing since 2021 and whether I completely follow through with it or not, I’m not planning on stopping anytime soon.

If you would like to check out my blog posts for the past words that I’ve had as a word of the year, I will list them underneath this. The only one that can’t be found on this blog is the first word.

2021 Word of the Year: shine

2022 Words of the Year: create, creative, creativity

2023 Word of the Year: consistency

The only word you won’t find a blog post on is shine. My 2021 Word of the Year blog post would be available but it isn’t. A few months after posting it and a few other blog posts, I switched to Bluehost. I lost that blog post and many others.

What Is My 2024 Word of the Year

Unlike last year’s word of the year, my word for the year was a little easier to choose. Of my list of words I had, one stood out to me more than others. Dream. Dream is one of my favorite words. That’s not the only reason the word dream is this year’s word of the year. I’m a creative first and foremost but also a dreamer who likes to dream big. That’s how I’ve always been and how I will always be. Limiting myself to one or two dreams is not me. It’s never been and it will never be.

For the longest, I’ve been putting off many dreams I have. I’ve done it for a few reasons – fear, having no time or means to make them happen, and I could go on. This year I want to stop playing around. I want to dream big, no bigger like I’ve never done before. I also want to put my dreams into action. Making my dreams a reality is what I want to make or start trying to make happen.

β€œYou are never given a dream without also being given the power to make it come true. You will have to work for it, however.”

– Richard Bach

I know some dreams I have won’t come easy and that’s fine. Not everything comes easy and I’m okay with that. I’m a perfectionist at heart and am willing to put my all into anything that I do. The only problem is my self-doubt and fear. None of that is going to stop me from dreaming how I dream. It’s never stopped me from dreaming.

This Is About Everyone Else, Too!

Everything isn’t about me dreaming big or making my dreams come true. Yes, that’s one of the main reasons behind choosing the word dream for my word of the year. It’s not the only one. If you know me in any way, I love and enjoy supporting others. I want to see everyone dreaming and going out of their way to achieve those dreams. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a small or a big dream. If you have a dream make a plan to make it happen and follow through with it.
