Reading Time: 4 minutes

Hey there, and Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a fantastic time ringing in the new year. A new year brings not only new goals but, most importantly, a new word of the year. I have many things I want to accomplish this year in various aspects of my life. One is that I want to 100% follow through with my word of the year.

This year will be my third year choosing a word of the year instead setting a new year’s resolution, and I’m excited about it. I’m excited about the word itself. If you’re new to my blog and haven’t read my 2022 word of the year blog post, it’s okay. I’ll revisit my past two years’ words first.

Back in 2021, my word was “shine.” I chose shine because that was the year that I wanted to shine and wanted others to shine as well. I would still love to see everyone around me shine, whether I knew them or not. Last year, in 2022, my words of the year included “creative,” “create,” and “creativity.” It was hard to choose one, so I chose all three. I’m a creative soul who loves to create things and have her creativity sparked. It wasn’t a hard choice to make.

Choosing My Word of the Year

When it came to choosing a new word for 2023, I narrowed it down to a few that I really liked. However, I became stuck on deciding which one. Each word meant something to me for one reason or another. While searching through the word of the year hashtag on Instagram, I came across a post that made me rethink how I should approach choosing one word this year. I decided to do what the post said and think about what it will take for me to master most of my goals for the year. When I thought about that, the main word that stuck out to me was consistency.

One of the things I’ve really had trouble doing is being consistent with a few things that I do. This year, I knew for a fact that I didn’t want to procrastinate. I can’t begin to tell you how many drafts I’ve made, but let’s not get into that. As I said before, I have so many goals. Not only that, but I want to continue to shine and be the creative person I am. The only way I know for sure it’s going to happen is through consistency. I want to aim for that more than anything else.

My Goals

As I stated a few times before, I have a number of goals that I would like to accomplish this year. My goals range from personal goals to blogging goals. I made a list of them at the end of the year, and truthfully, I’m sure that they’re going to grow as time goes on and I think of more.
