Relle Rewind: October 2025 Recap

relleunique October 31, 2025 592 views

Welcome to another edition of Relle Rewind, where I’ll provide a monthly recap of the highlights from each month. If you want to read September’s post, a link will be left at the end of this blog post.

October Reflections

If I had to summarize October in a single word, I would say it was refreshing. I didn’t do much outside of attending Atlanta Pride and writing more than I thought I would. It felt nice to get back into writing like I used to. It might not sound like a big deal, but to me it is, as I was productive enough for myself.

Encore Moments

There are a few things that brought me comfort and joy this month. Going to the Atlanta Pride parade is one of those things. It felt comforting to be there for the first time in two years.

Then there’s writing. Writing always brings me comfort and joy, whether I’m writing songs, poetry, articles, or something else. Going through a phase where I forced myself to write things wasn’t a good place to be. I’m hoping I’m not jinxing myself by saying this, but I’m back in the mindset to write and write a lot.

I’m fairly certain that, for the most part, I have Blogtober to thank for that. No, I didn’t write too many blog posts, but I’m still proud and happy that I took on the challenge on my own terms.

Pride Notes

Unfortunately, no pride notes this month. I think some things happened this month that stood out to me, but I didn’t keep track of everything. I wish I had.

What I Wrote In October

I wrote more than I expected this month, and the things I wrote last month were finally posted as well.

Media I Consumed In October

Music

October was a big month for new music, or at least that’s what it seemed like. Here’s a list of albums that dropped this month, which I enjoyed listening to. I’ll only include ten, so the list won’t be too long.

  • LATE TO THE PARTY – King Sis
  • GIRLS – Princess Nokia
  • after the sun goes down – Khalid
  • i feel nothing – Maggie Lindemann
  • The BakKery – CupcakKe
  • love? …or something like it – Halle
  • She Wasn’t Home – Snow Tha Product
  • getting older scares me to death – davvn
  • It’s Not That Deep – Demi Lovato
  • How To Be Human – Cat Burns

TV Shows

There weren’t too many shows that I watched this month, mostly because a majority of my month has been spent binge-watching a show I’ve been wanting to watch for years now. However, below are what I did watch.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place

I was trying to resist getting Disney+ back, but after seeing “spoilers” about it on Instagram and Threads about Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, I caved. I’m not mad I caved. It was worth it because the second season of the show was just as good as the first season. In case you haven’t seen the first season of the show, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place is about Billie, a hopeful future wizard who’s been placed under Justin’s care by Alex. If you liked Wizards of Waverly Place, Beyond Wizards of Waverly Place is worth checking out.

Electric Bloom

When it comes to shows, I truly don’t care about the target audience. If it’s something I feel I’ll be interested in watching, I’ll watch it. With Electric Bloom, what drew me to it is the fact that it’s about a girl band that takes us back on their journey to how they came to be. They’ve gone through a lot with friends, enemies, school, and, more importantly, with their band. What I like most about the show, other than it’s about a girl band, is that each member of the group has their own distinct style, and they’re not willing to let anyone stand in their way.

Vampirina: Teenage Vampire

Vampirina: Teenage Vampire wasn’t something I planned on watching until I saw it was about a teenager who’s both into music and goes to a performing arts school. A story behind why that hooked me onto the show, more than likely, will come in the future.

Rizzoli & Isles

Rizzoli & Isles has been a show that I’ve been wanting to watch for YEARS now. Mostly, I wanted to watch it because the late Lee Thompson Young is in it, although I had wanted to watch it long before he passed away. When I discovered Pluto TV had the entire series, I wasted no time starting my binge-watch. The show is about Jane Rizzoli (a homicide detective) and Maura Isles (a medical examiner), their lives, friendship, and the people around them. If you like police procedural shows, which I, for some reason, do, it’s worth checking out.

  1. I haven’t watched a Disney Channel/Disney+ show in a long time, but I know what you mean about ignoring target audiences. Some of my favorite books are intended for young adults, and between you and me, Bestie, I’m far from being a *young* adult, lol. I think life is better when we give ourselves permission to enjoy the things we enjoy!
