Tuesday Tens: 10 Halloween Movies I Never Get Tired Of

relleunique October 28, 2025 667 views

Witches, vampires, werewolves, phantoms, ghosts, and I could go on. What do all of them have in common apart from being part of the supernatural world? They all have at least one movie about them.

Every year on Halloween, since I’m a homebody, I enjoy watching a Halloween movie or a few on Halloween, and this year isn’t any different. This year, I want to have a Halloween movie marathon featuring my favorite films that evoke Halloween vibes throughout the weekend.

Instead of gatekeeping what I’ll be watching, I want to share the Halloween movies I never get tired of. Some of them are ones I’ll be watching during a Halloween marathon.

Halloweentown franchise

It only feels right to start this list off with the Halloweentown franchise. In the world of Disney Channel Halloween movies, while others were fans of Hocus Pocus, I preferred Halloweentown. The franchise has four installments, which follow Marnie in different aspects of her life, navigating between the human world and Halloweentown. Halloweentown itself is a supernatural place where you’ll find everything from ghosts, ghouls, witches, vampires, and ogres living a normal life. For them, it’s not a costume; it’s who they are.

The four movies in the franchise include Halloweentown, Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge, Halloweentown High, and Return to Halloweentown. The franchise follows Marnie from the moment she discovers she’s a witch and that Halloweentown is real to the moment she’s in college. We meet cool and fascinating characters along the way, witness drama, see Marnie and her family having to save the day (and towns), and see pure chaos mixed with fun adventures.

These movies are a must-watch for a Halloween movie marathon, including Return of Halloween, although Kimberly J. Brown is no longer Marnie in the franchise. It’s a classic for sure.

Also, did I mention the movie stars the late and iconic Debbie Reynolds?

Twitches 1 & 2

A friend asked me in someone’s stream if Twitches would be part of my Halloween movie marathon, and the answer is absolutely! Maybe I’m being biased because I’ve been a Tia and Tamera Mowry fan my entire life, but Twitches and Twitches Too are my two favorite movies about witches. This movie is yet another Disney Channel Original Movie (or DCOM, whichever you prefer to write it). It isn’t every day you see a movie starring Black witches, and Disney gave us exactly that with this movie.

The first movie is about long-lost twin sisters Alex (Tia Mowry) and Cam (Tamera Mowry). Alex and Cam run into each other on their birthday. They find out more than they planned: they have magical powers, come from a magical kingdom called Coventry, and were born into a royal family. The biggest part about them? It’s up to them to save the place where they were born with the help of their protectors guiding them.

While Twitches is about them finding everything out, Twitches Too is about their families. More so, it’s about whether their father is alive or not. The movies have magic, fashion, drama, laughs, and more.

Don’t Look Under The Bed

Don’t Look Under The Bed is another DCOM, but it’s nothing like either of the above movies. If someone were to ask if Disney has any scary movies, Don’t Look Under the Bed is that movie. The movie takes its own spin on the Boogeyman. The movie is about Frances and Larry Houdini, her personal boogeyman who lives under her bed. One day, Larry, instead of staying under the bed, starts making appearances around the city.

Larry starts stirring up trouble and causes strange things to happen around Frances. It causes her to get in trouble. While Frances can see him, she eventually realizes she’s the only one who can see him. Don’t Look Under The Bed gives all the creepy, mysterious, and emotional vibes.

Phantom of the Megaplex

Phantom of the Megaplex is a DCOM that’s not talked about enough. The movie takes place at a megaplex where the main character, Peter, works. There’s supposed to be a Hollywood premiere, and although everyone wants everything to go as perfectly as possible, chaos ensues instead. Some people think it’s the work of a phantom who haunts the movie theater.

It’s a good mystery and fun time that, if you haven’t heard of or seen before, you should definitely check out.

I Know What You Did Last Summer

I Know What You Did Last Summer is such a classic movie. Yes, they did a remake, and while it was good, I’m talking about the original. Let’s throw I Still Know What You Did Last Summer into the mix as well.

I Know What You Did Last Summer is about a group of friends who are involved in covering up the fact that one of them accidentally hit someone with a car. Jump to a year later, just when they thought they could put it all behind them, they start getting notes from someone who says they know what they did the previous summer. The person also starts stalking them.

If you’re a fan of urban legends like I am, you might enjoy this movie. It somewhat involved the legend of “the Hookman”.

Final Destination franchise

While some people might not like the franchise (my mom, for example), I LOVE the Final Destination franchise. I don’t know what it is about them, but they’ve always been a favorite of mine. Each movie in the franchise follows the same plotline, in which one character has a vision of a deadly accident happening. These accidents range from a plane crash to a highway pileup to a rollercoaster malfunction, etc. The person who has the visions ends up preventing the accidents, not knowing there will be a price to pay. Death starts taking survivors one by one, letting the survivors know that they can’t cheat death as much as they try to.

The franchise is all about twisting fate, but it reminds everyone that death is inevitable. The best part of the franchise? The late and iconic king of horror movies, Tony Todd.

Fear Street

As someone who grew up reading the Fear Street series, I was happy when I found out that Fear Street was getting a film adaptation. The first installment included Fear Street: 1994, Fear Street: 1978, and Fear Street: 1966. Fear Street, both the books and movies, takes place in Shadyside, a fictional town.

The movies involve a curse that the town is under. Fear Street: 1994 introduces us to the curse when a group of friends encounters it. Fear Street: 1978 takes place at Camp Nightwing, a summer camp in Shadyside, and there’s a killer on the loose. Lastly, but not least, Fear Street: 1666 takes us to the beginning of when and why the curse first began.

The movies do a great job of bringing R. L. Stine’s Fear Street books to life. It gives darkness, slasher-movie vibes, eeriness, and coziness all at once.

I have yet to watch the newest Fear Street movie, Fear Street: Prom Queen, but I do plan on doing so.

The Ring

This is one of those films I can repeatedly watch and still feel scared with each viewing. However, I love the feeling I get because, at the end of the day, it’s a classic. The Ring, in short, is about a cursed videotape. Anyone who watches the tape ends up getting a phone call from a mysterious person telling them they’re going to die in seven days. It isn’t until the main character of the movie, Rachel, starts investigating that people finally begin to take the tape seriously.

If you like creepy movies that involve a mystery to uncover, this is the type of movie you should watch. Warning: You might not want to answer the phone right away.

Scooby-Doo

As a lover of everything Scooby-Doo, I couldn’t imagine not including this movie on my list, especially when I’ve watched it so many times that I’ve lost count. The Scooby-Doo movie involves Velma, Fred, Daphne, Shaggy, and Scooby investigating a place called “Spooky Island” after receiving an invitation. The movie includes everything that the Scooby-Doo universe is about: chaos, chasing clues, unmasking villains, fun, etc.

The Haunted Mansion

This movie is amazing. I love myself a good ghost movie, so maybe that’s me being biased. Haunted Mansion is about Jim Evers taking a vacation with his family to a lake. The family takes a detour to the mansion after Jim’s wife gets a call from the owner at the lake. Little does Jim and his family know, the mansion is haunted.

There are spooky moments, laughs, fun, and an all-around good time.

What about you? Do you have any Halloween or Halloween-esque movies you love watching? Do you like any of the ones on this list? Let me know in the comments below, and feel free to check out my other Blogtober posts.

  1. We watched I Know What You Did Last Summer in Rural’s watch party. I don’t think I had seen it since the ’90s. It was so cheesy, but to be honest, most of the films on this list are pretty darn cheesy. That’s part of their charm. Thanks for a wonderful blogtober, Relle!
