Blogmas Day 1: Welcome To Blogmas 2023

Blogmas is finally here and I’ve decided to participate for the first time this year.

During the time that I was doing YouTube, before my hiatus from it, there had been a moment or two when I wanted to participate in Vlogmas. My reasons for not doing that were because I didn’t think I had it in me to shoot many videos back to back or every single day.

What Is Blogmas?

Blogmas is somewhat like Vlogmas. Vlogmas is when you post a video every day. Whereas, Blogmas is a blogging challenge that takes place every December. You can do it in different ways, such as posting every day during December, posting every day until Christmas, or posting for twelve days in a row.

While Blogmas happens in December, it’s not a must that all posts have to be about the holidays. If it’s not your cup of tea then none of the posts have to be festive. All that matters at the end of the day is that you’re blogging as much as you intended. If you don’t then that’s fine. The pressure to put out a blog post every day can be tedious especially when life gets in the way.

Why Am I Doing Blogmas?

There are several reasons why I’m doing Blogmas. I said this a few times before in past blog posts and I’ll say it again. One of my goals for 2023 was to participate in a blogging challenge. I didn’t do April’s A-Z blog challenge and I also didn’t participate in blogtober. With it being the end of the year and me wanting to get many things with what I want to make happen, Blogmas seemed like the perfect opportunity.

I also wanted to challenge myself. Challenging myself is something that I like doing from time to time and in my opinion, if I can at least knock out at least twelve blog posts for Blogmas I can do anything I want to do.

What’s To Come

Am I a holiday or festive person? The answer to that question is a yes. I love this time of the year, New Year’s Eve and Kwanza (even though I’ve only celebrated it once) more than Christmas. However, that doesn’t mean that I’m not going to write about Christmas. That also doesn’t mean that I’m going to only write about Christmas.

That’s not going to happen because I feel like I’m going to lose interest in Blogmas quickly.

I love to write. I love to write about anything that comes to my mind. There is a list of ideas I made for Blogmas. I have some Alphabet Superset content that I have listed so I can slowly but surely get myself up-to-date with the letter that I should be on. There are also ideas that I have that I’ve been wanting to write about or rewrite since I restarted my blog.

I won’t go into too much detail about everything I’ll be writing about because I want a lot of it to be a surprise. However, I will say that I can’t wait to put out a post for Blogmas every day. I don’t know if that’ll be every day until Christmas or everyday until the last day of the year. That’s something that I haven’t decided yet. I don’t want to decide.
