Happy Pride Month! If Pride Month isn’t for you then happy June to you. The month of June is a month dedicated to a few things and not just pride month. This month is also National PTSD Awareness Month, National Soul Food Month, and National Zoo and Aquarium Month. Last but not least, the second reason I’m making this blog post which is African-American Appreciation Month. Needless to say, today I will be sharing my black LGBTQIA+ Pride playlist.
Back in June 2020, I decided that I wanted to create a few playlists dedicated to LGBTQ+ artists. By a few, I mean one dedicated to all LGBTQIA+ artists. And another one dedicated to black LGBTQIA+ artists. I figured that for Pride Month and African American Music Appreciation Month it would be a good idea. While it is the month it is I decided to include black music artists that are a part of the community because it only seemed right in my opinion whether they’re African American or not.
The first playlist that I will be sharing this month is my black LGBTQIA+ pride playlist. For this playlist, I scaled my huge playlist down in size. Instead of having many songs by an LGBTQIA+ black artist, included are two songs by each of my favorites. There might be some familiar names and some unfamiliar names you’ve never heard of before. In my opinion, each and every music artist in the playlist is worth checking out.
In the future, I do hope to share more playlists. Being able to share my favorite music with others is something that I do enjoy. I hope that you check out the playlist and that you enjoy what it has to offer. I will be updating the playlist in the future. This is one of a few pride posts one can expect from this blog.
