Happy blogaversary and birthday to my blog, Relle Unique. I can’t believe it’s been five years since I started this blog. Starting this space I created for myself was something I didn’t have to think twice about. I knew I wanted to make it happen, but it was a matter of when and where to begin.
At first, I thought about calling it Relle Actually, and while it had a nice ring to it, it didn’t feel fitting for me. That’s where Relle Unique came in. One, because it’s a cute play on words, and two, it was already my username.
This post marks the five-year anniversary of my blog. Happy blog anniversary to me!

Revisiting Why I Started Blogging

It wouldn’t be a celebration post if I didn’t revisit why I started my blog. I started my blog for different reasons.
The main reason I started my blog is due to my love of writing. The second reason is that I feel like I have a lot to say. I have a lot of things I want to share. These things include my interests, who I am, and everything in between.
Writing lets me put my feelings into words. It allows me to express myself.
I have a story, or rather stories, to tell. Not only do I feel like my words mean something, but I know they mean something. That is, even if not everyone’s interested in them.
At the end of the day, I truly want to write and share my world and writing with anyone who wants to read it, even if it’s just a few people.
Things I’ve Accomplished Since Starting My Blog
I wouldn’t say I’ve accomplished a lot between the moment I posted my first blog post and now. However, I wouldn’t say I didn’t accomplish anything when I did. A few things I’ve accomplished since starting my blog include:
- The obvious, or what I would like to think of as the obvious, is writing blog posts for my blog. I haven’t written a lot, and that’s okay because at the end of the day, I’ve written a couple and hit the post button even though I was scared of doing so for many of them.
- I’ve celebrated four birthdays. I started my blog in August 2020, and since I celebrated my 30th, 31st, 32nd, and a few months ago, my 34th birthday. Not only did I celebrate four birthdays, but for two of them I did something I never thought I would do: I booked myself a birthday photoshoot for not one but two of them, and made them happen.
- I threw creating new year’s resolutions out the window and instead started having a word of the year. I haven’t been the best at following through with them entirely, but with the one I set out for in my personal new year, there’s still time to make it happen. That counts, right?
- I created and successfully started running a few fan accounts for a few of my favorite artists. I haven’t touched them in a while, but I do plan on doing so. Even so, I’m proud of it. It’s something I enjoy doing a lot.
- I got into writing about music and artists for a few publications. This is something I touched on briefly in my comeback blog post, and while I could go into detail about it, I’ll save it for a future post. However, I can say I’ve felt accomplished to make that happen.

Okay, so maybe I’ve accomplished more than I let on. There are a few others I wanted to put and maybe I will make another post for that in the future, who knows. At the end of the day, I feel like I’ve accomplished some things I never thought I would.
Things I’m Looking Forward To
If you read my comeback blog post, then you know there are several things I want to put into action. The top two things I’m looking forward to are blogging more and growing my blog in the best way possible. When I said it’s time for me to stop playing my blog (or at least I think I said that!), I meant it 100%.
I want to see it grow. I want to see it flourish. I want to see what all I can accomplish with it. I don’t know how far it’s going to go but I’m here for it all in the long run.

Before I end this blog post, I would like to say thank you to every person who’s stopped by my blog, read my posts, and clicked through other posts. Whether you’ve been a reader for the past five years or you’re a new reader, thank you so much for giving me and my blog a chance.
It might only be my fifth blog anniversary, but it still means the world to me that I’ve made it this far with this. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
