I took a break last week from posting on my blog. Not becauase I wasn’t feeling it but because I needed a mental break to recharge and regain my focus. However, I’m back this week, as you could tell by yesterday’s post and all of that good stuff. I figured I’d do a mini check in.
Atlanta Pride
Atlanta Pride was over the weekened. While part of me wanted to attend Saturday’s festivities, I decided to skip out on it. However, I went to the pride parade yesterday. I’ve missed Atlanta Pride two years in a row. This year I wanted to make up for it.
It took me a long time to get there. I got off the bus not realizing that when the bus driver headed to station after turning around. I On the way walking from the train station, there were bigots out and about. Them aside and taking a turn, I made it to my usual standing spot to watch the parade. When the parade started, I couldn’t have been happier. I love getting to see and witnesss all the organizations, businesses, etc participates in Atlanta Pride. It’s always a beautiful moment from the beginning to the end.
The only annoying thing was that there was a bigot with a megaphone yelling behind me and others. Although, a few parade goers decided to dance in front of them. All in all, the parade was great. Everyone looked amazing. The music in the parade was amazing. We danced, we cheered, we yelled, collected things, etc.
I had to leave Atlanta Pride early
I didn’t get to enjoy the festival itself becauseon my way from the parade to the park, I fell hard. If it wasn’t for people rushing to my aid and helping out, I would’ve probably been annoyed at the world. THAT’S how bad it was when I fell. And let me just say, some people who should be helpful are NOT helpful. I went to the first aid tent and what did these people who were supposed to help do? Stand and sit around. I looked at the person sitting and she looked at me. It annoyed me because it was evident I was seriously injured.
It irked me but I grabbed myself a drink before leaving the pride festival altogther. I was in so much pain, still in a lot of pain as I type this but I’m trying to pull through it.
I did take a lot of photos and videos of the parade which hopefully I can get around to posting sooner or later in a future post on my blog. I have pictures from something else that I did earlier in the year sitting in my camera as well.
Easing Back Into Writing
I hate when I have moments of not wanting to write or type anything up. However, I feel like I’m slowly starting to feel like writing more again. I think I would say I have my blog and doing Blogtober to think for that. I love that I’ve been doing this even if I did miss an entire week. I’m not trying to focus on that part. Only the good stuff.
When I’ve been going through of a bit of or rather a huge creative rut, I’ve missed out on writing about a lot of things including articles for publications. However, getting back into the flow of everything is something I’m hoping I will be able to do because writing is everything to me… Maybe not more than music but that’s neither here nor there.
Honestly, that’s all I had to talk about in this blog post. Think of this as a many check-in of some sort.
