Relle Rewind: September 2025 Recap

relleunique October 1, 2025 417 views

Here’s a funny story, or rather, just a story. I sat down ready to write a blog post featuring each and every album I listened to and loved during September, when I remembered I also wanted to do a wrap-up post for the month. After thinking about it longer than I probably should’ve, I ultimately decided to abandon the idea of doing an album post and skip to doing a September recap.

While I could just name it “Month Wrap-Up” or “Month Recap,” I wanted to incorporate my name within it, so welcome to the first-ever Relle Rewinds. At the end of each month, I’ll recap everything that is me, or maybe not everything. As you go farther, you’ll find things that made me smile or cry, things I’ve written, queer topics that caught my attention, media I consumed this month, and more!

September Reflections

Truthfully, I don’t know what word I would use to describe September for me. At the beginning of the month, I was dealing with a lot of things. One of those things was debating on leaving a hobby of mine I’ve had since I was eighteen, but then turning around and choosing a different path to go with it. I don’t want to get into it, nor do I want to talk about the hobby. Not right now at least.

Thinking about it, I still don’t know what I would say September was for me overall.

Encore Moments

Encore moments will be about all things that brought me comfort or joy through the moment, whether big or small.

There were a few things that brought me comfort and joy in September: writing, listening to music, watching Twitch streams, and playing video games.

Speaking of Twitch, I got to meet one of my Twitch friends, or besties (as I like to call them), in person. Special shoutout to KatienOnTwitch! I don’t hang out with many people, so when a friend comes to my city, it’s a must that I see them in person, as I adore meeting people I’ve only talked to online and built connections with. Katien is an amazing person whom I’ve been following on Twitch for a good minute now. I was nervous, but I’m always nervous about meeting people. They were so welcoming, such a sweetheart, and overall an amazing person with whom I hope to do things again in the future.

The next thing that brought me comfort and joy was getting to see my older sister and my nephew, not once but twice. One reason was that she wanted me to babysit, and the other was that I love spending time with my sister and nephew.

Lastly, I bought new glasses! I haven’t had a pair of glasses since the beginning of last year, and have been needing some as soon as possible. I went in for an eye exam back in August and finally went on EyeBuyDirect to purchase some at the end of September. It took a few days to get here. While I’m still adjusting to my new glasses, I can say I love them.

For September, two queer moments stood out and made me smile. First, OVERCOMPENSATING WAS FINALLY RENEWED.

I’m sorry for yelling at you as you read this. I’m that excited. The show was released in May, and I binged the show right away. I fell in love with the plot and some of the characters, including the main character, Benny Skinner, played by Benito Skinner. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but I’ll leave the trailer below to check out. It’s relatable, queer, bold, awkward, and most of all relatable. I would 10/10 recommend it to anyone who wants to add a queer show to their watchlist.

The second queer moment that stood out to me in September was the announcement of who’ll be performing at Atlanta Pride. The performers for the main stage this year are Perfume Genius, Bob the Drag Queen, and Flo Milli, who will be the headliner. I haven’t decided whether I’ll be attending, but I’m excited about who will be.

What I Wrote In September

Truth be told, while I’ve written some things here and there, nothing has been posted… yet. Some things are ready to be submitted, which will happen soon. Stay tuned for the end of this month. It’ll be jammed packed, and I know it. After all, Blogtober is coming!

Media I Consumed

Music

While I want to write about many eps and albums that were released while I still have time to do them, and I have a few that are already in progress, I don’t want to say too much about this. However, here are some EPs and albums I think you should check out:

  • Snow Tha Product’s M.a.M.A
  • G Flip’s Dream Ride
  • Justin Bieber’s Swagg II
  • Gäelle’s ALL THE THINGS I COULD SAY
  • Ed Sheeran’s Play
  • Lola Young’s I’m Only F**king Myself
  • Aly & AJ’s More Silver
  • Josh Ross’ Later Tonight
  • JADE’s THAT’S SHOWBIZ BABY!
  • Twenty One Pilots’ Breach
  • Ash B’s Mixed Feelings

TV Shows

Resident Alien

via Giphy

If you’re looking for a show about aliens, this is a show you should be watching and adding to your list! I binge-watched it within a week after becoming hooked from the start. I don’t want to give any spoilers away, but the show is about an alien landing on Earth to complete a mission. The show has an amazing plot, great characters, and twists.

Quantum Leap

via Giphy

I’ll say it: I’ve never seen the original Quantum Leap before watching the reboot series, and I’m okay with that. I would love to watch it since the reboot continues where the last one left off, though first I need to figure out where to watch it.

The Quantum Leap reboot is a show I’ve had on my list for a while now, and I finally decided to watch, or rather binge, it. They mention Sam Beckett, who originally leaped as the main character during its original run. But now it’s Dr. Ben Song’s turn. The show has since been canceled, which I hate, but it’s definitely a must-see.

Movies

The Wrong Paris

I added this to my list for two reasons. First, the title alone made it seem like it would be a good movie. Second, two of my (many) favorite actresses are in it: Miranda Cosgrove and Madison Pettis. I didn’t know what I was getting into because I only saw a few seconds of a clip where Miranda’s character and a few others were walking off the plane. I’ll let the trailer do the rest of the talking. You won’t be disappointed.

Outro

Do you want to know what’s coming in October?

I’ll be posting another Relle Rewinds at the end of October, but first, Blogtober is this month! I don’t know if I’ll be posting every day, but we will see! If you read my post about The Great Lock-In, I’m trying to aim for at least twenty posts. Stay tuned for my first official Blogtober blog post to find out more.
